At one point, I wrote about being 33 weeks pregnant. Someone asked for a To Be Continued. I honestly didn’t think that the post would attract much traffic, but it is one of my most hit posts next to the one I wrote about the Amish.
So I am going to talk about the particulars of a four month old baby. S, my baby girl, is 95% in both height and weight. She is wearing 6 month clothes. She is nursed, so I am pretty surprised because A was such a pipsqueak. But someone told me that the 2nd child being bigger is pretty standard.
S seems to have discovered her hands, and they surprise her, in fact, scare her sometimes. She will nurse for looooong stretches which I allow her to do sometimes because it is good for milk production, and I really don’t want to have to start using the Ayurvedic herb Fenugreek, though it does work.
S sleeps less and less incrementally as time goes on, however, she stopped the colic almost 3 months on the button. She had a couple of 2 day followups but largely she has started sleeping at the latest 1 am. Subsequently my days of much Facebook are over. Am quite ok with that.
A friend told me her nap schedule for her kids which afforded her a 3 hour block in the afternoon without kids. After I picked up my jaw off the floor, she explained that she had her boy playing in his room for 2 and a half hours. I knew that wasn’t my style, we do an hour every day. But it dawned on me that if I put S on a nap schedule I would get more time without being bombarded by kid needs and I could do other things, like plan a birthday party and write the invitations, clean up messes and get dinner going… fun things, right?
So physically, she is big, 16 pounds if I recall. Sleepwise, am just grateful to be getting to bed before 1 am, mostly. But I haven’t mentioned what a smiler and laugher she is. She smiles as long as I look at her, she likes attention, naturally. And she is a joy. Someday I will miss having a baby around.
Yes, you will definitely miss having a baby around. I do.
Your baby girl is just precious- soo pink and pretty. Glad the colic has passed.
What a cutie patootie!
She is adorable. I love how you caught the drool on her lips. About her not going to bed earlier than 1am, that just means she is a night owl, like you 🙂
I’m thinkin she’s figuring out she is looking at a camera
