In which I am up at 2 AM with an infant.

When I go on Facebook, I sort of feel like the only person in the world who has had a baby while older than 35. People I went to high school with…they are all done with kids. Some divorced. Their kids are all like 13, 15, 18 years old. For me to have a newborn when they are practically looking forward to being grandparents makes me feel like Facebook isn’t where I will find much company at 2 AM while comforting an unhappy infant.

So how did I get to be so old and be a mom???

Well you see, I decided that marriage was far too scary for me. What was with this doing anything “FOR THE REST OF YOUR LIFE” thing anyhow? I was 22. I could barely keep my car insured.

After I did that, I decided that most males were simply a distraction to my master plans to travel the world.

Back to the present, I am here at 2 am bouncing, rocking, shushing, feeding, swinging, driving this child hoping, indeed, praying that she will sleep before 2:30, because that is when I turn into a pumpkin.

And lo and behold, I am a mommyblogger.  :o)

My Mom had me when she was 39. I was the last of four. She was married at 29. 🙂
